Dear Nicey, I have recently tried some "free from" biscuits - alas I have a gluten allergy - and found them to be so obnoxious that I have opted for a measured intake of the real thing and stomach ache afterwards, rather than these imposter peculiarly powdery confections which actually fizz in the mouth as if they contained explosive sherbert. Also - Some of your lady consumers might like to try the following as a remedy to a crap nite out. On arriving home, make a cup of tea, put your handbag on the floor and go into a biscuit frenzy around your handbag. This is the Biscotheque and with the right music of your choice, it really does rock.

Several problems here. First we don't sell biscuits we just review them. Second it appears from your mail and your desired biscuit that you visited Germany, and we are based in the UK. Good luck with your quest, perhaps if you have the wrappers left you can contact whoever makes them and see if they have a US importer. |

Hi,
My colleagues and I have just been having a heated debate and wondered if you could clear something up for us.
If the Kit-Kat is a chocolate covered biscuit, is the chunky kit-kat still a chocolate covered biscuit or has it made a successful transition to fully-fledged chocolate bar?

| Nicey replies: Yes I can see how this is can be troubling. The KitKat has always been ambivalent about what it is, preferring to sit on the fence. Of course it would appear that with the chunky they have firmly aligned themselves with the chocolate bars, and in doing so cast doubt amongst those who would call the conventional KitKat a biscuit. Personally I don't feel the need to make hard and fast calls on the KitKat's nature. The big Venn diagram of biscuits would simply move the chunky KitKat out of the union of chocolate bars and chocolate covered biscuits, into chocolate bars. It could still sit next to its forbearers though so that it doesn't look too dramatic. |

My former employers prevented us from having a nice cuppa by confiscating the kettle from our own staff kitchen. The reasoning was that we hadn't been trained in using a kettle - oh dear! As a result we were forced to experience the wrath of the vending machine and the tea tasted strangely of fish.
