Hiromi Miura's Rich Harvest Biscuit review

Dear Nicey,Wifey and YMOS;

In Japan, there has been a "Harvest sesame"biscuit manufactured by TO-HATO since 1978. "Harvest sesame" is a fluted round sesame flavoured biscuit with a hint of coconut, and sprinkled some white sesame seeds on top.

Each biscuit is only 3mm thick, so this biscuit is a delicate, fragile and likely to be loved by health food lovers? it tastes like "NICE" biscuit in the U.K. As far as I know, it is similar to the Waitrose own brand one rather than the FOX'S' one. Because I think the FOX'S' has harder texture than the Waitrose's. There are eight individually portion packs including five thinner biscuits in a bag.

Recently, I found a new species of the "Harvest" biscuit that Nicey and Wifey seemed to suggest us

not to buy for children, as it has a name that made me imagine a top of the range biscuit. It is a "Rich Harvest" biscuit. Of course, I decided to get it soon,and went home with it.

Well, let's prepare for a mug of tea with an even finer teabag than my usual for the "RICH" thing, especially today! After brewing tea, I finally opened the package.

On opening the box ,inside is an inner plastic tray divided into two sections. Each section has four biscuits individually wrapped, so, there are totally eight biscuits in the carton. It is thicker whipped chocolate filling that is made up of milk chocolate and white chocolate attached a thinner biscuit on the each top and bottom.

The chocolate is smooth, creamy, superb and very satisfying. It melts instantly in my mouth. Lovely.

Ditto,the original "Harvest "biscuit has delicate ,only 3mm thick , thinner texture.

I think it is true that this "Rich Harvest" is literally a "High-End" one in terms of its chocolate filling.

However, I cannot agree with the naming, in the sight of the BISCUT.

Because, sad to say, such a delicate "Harvest"biscuit seems to turn into POOR biscuit rather than RICH one, when it unites with a great amount of tasty chocolate. And, I guess that the fine filling mars the "Harvest "biscuit's fine flavour and crisp texture, completely.

To make matters worse, some white sesame seeds as both its ingredient and topping that

original " Harvest sesame " biscuit should have hold are axed , here!

I do hope that the maker "TO-HATO" will work on another "Rich Harvest" biscuit, starring their original "Harvest sesame" not filling such as chocolate or something , next.

As an aside, the word "rich" remind me of South Korea. I love TVXQ, who is a Korean boy band, consisting of five members. (I guess they are like New Kids on The Block in U.S.A) I have been to South Korea for more than 10 times, mainly on my husband's business trip. On visits there, I used to enjoy watching TV show that TVXQ were singing and dancing. And I also remember seeing a Korean boy pop singer named "RICH" as well as TVXQ, maybe a few years ago. And recently, I overheard that the "RICH" was still being a singer in South Korea on a radio talking program that provided us, people living in Japan, information on Korean entertainment. But, the details of how rich the Korean singer named "RICH" are unknown.

Thank you for reading.

Hiromi Miura (Tokyo, Japan)
