Jacob's Orange Club Review |
In response to an email which mentioned the different pictures on the wrappers of the various varieties. The milk chocolate Club had a light blue coloured wrapper with a picture of some playing cards (suit being Clubs I would imagine). And the one with the Golf ball was the plain chocolate. I can remember how you used to be able to bite off huge chunks of chocolate to leave just the biscuity bit in the middle.
Oh there was also a wafer Club that I think had a dark blue wrapper. I was once brought a large box of the plain chocolate ones as a Xmas present and after eating them all very quickly I never again had much of a taste for the plain chocolate ones and the milk one became my favourite. The mint ones were pretty good but I found the filling a bit too sweet. But all this reading of emails has made me long for a Club so I might have to nip to the Supermarket and see just how much they have changed.

P.S Is it my imagination or is there really no review of the Plain Choc Digestive. Surely one the best biscuits ever created.
P.P.S As for more recent biscuits I find that the Echo bar is very pleasant (though it may not qualify as a biscuit per se). |

Bahlsen Crumblys Review |
Hello again Nicey!
Just returned from holiday to find that I'm mentioned in the September Newsletter! Yay! Delighted that the Yoda Mug Story had such a happy and successful ending...
You might be interested to know that whilst in Corfu we managed to pick up a couple of packets of the chocolate Bahlsen Crumbly's! Woo! They are fantastic - well done to the little supermarket in Kassiopi for stocking them; we were most excited to find them on the shelf! Pity they didn't have the other two flavours, but it's still a good introduction to the species!
I managed to bring a packet back for the delectation of my colleagues - although we did have to pack it in the suitcase to prevent in-flight biscuit cravings getting the better of us... I am pleased to report that the chaps in the office also heartily approved (although of course their recent rapid consumption of the weird cranberry cookies from America does suggest that they are not too choosy in the biscuit department!) and the Crumbly's disappeared pretty quickly. Looking forward to finding the other two flavours soon!

Plain Chocolate Gingernut Review |
Hello,
just read your review of the chocolate coated ginger nut - these are perhaps the finest biscuits yet crafted by human hand. Simple and unassuming, they invade the senses with an explosion of finely married texture and flavour. I can't believe it took this long to invent, whoever was responsible for this at McVities should be knighted. However I haven't been able to get any for a disturbingly long time - have they been taken off the market? If they have, I make take my own life. Please can someone provide an update?

HI. Ok, I realise that you do not rate the Nice biscuit very highly ;-) but I love them. Well, actually I absolutely adore the half chocolate coated variety. But, horrors, I have not been able to get any for the last 12 months at least. Nobody seems to sell them anymore. Why? Ordinary Nice biscuits are available but not my very favourite chocolate ones. Worse still there are plenty of the absolutely awful chocolate rich tea variety and chocolate malted milk biscuits about. For heaven's sake they do not need any embellishment like chocolate!!
So, does anybody know of anywhere in Staffordshire - preferable near Cannock/Wolverhampton as I'm disabled and unable to travel very far - who stocks chocolate Nice biscuits? I am getting desperate :-)))
Take care and keep on dunking regardless.

Hello Nicey,
Last night while driving to work and listening to B.B.C Radio Wales I heard about your wonderful website during a programme about computers called Mouse Mat. So in work this morning I checked it out and was delighted by your reviews. However I notice you haven't reviewed the very best biscuit of all. The Tesco Finest Triple chocolate giant biscuit. It can be found in the bakery department. They are cooked in store every day and if you are lucky you might just catch them while they are warm. V. good.
Keep up the good work, you really are providing a vauable service to the British biscuit munching community. I say go global!

Glad to hear you heard me on Welsh radio. I did that interview last week on the great 'perfect cup of tea day'.
As for giant cookies we have skirted that whole area for too long now, at some point soon we will dive in.
